Future Promises Foundation is a Delaware-based nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives through mental health and recovery support, youth empowerment, and second chances for returning citizens.
We believe that real change begins at home—and grows outward. That’s why every one of our programs centers the family, addresses systemic gaps, and responds to the realities of our community with compassion, accountability, and vision.
The challenges facing our many individuals, youth and families are real—and deeply connected:
lives in a home impacted by substance use.
report symptoms of depression or anxiety. In some districts, chronic absenteeism exceeds 40%, leading to academic decline.
Delaware remains among the top five states in the nation for opioid-related overdose deaths per capita.
relapse into substance use within the first year—without access to proper support.
Over 14,000 residents are directly impacted by challenges across our three core pillars. These aren’t just numbers — they’re students, parents, returning citizens, and families fighting to survive without enough support. They’re part of a larger cycle of trauma, poverty, addiction, and incarceration that impacts entire families and neighborhoods.
At Future Promises Foundation, we don’t apply one-size-fits-all solutions. Our approach is rooted in community proximity, cultural relevance, and continuum-based support. Every program is intentionally designed to evolve with the people it serves—bridging immediate needs with long-term opportunity.
We proudly operate from a central location in Dover, Delaware—a welcoming space where individuals and families can receive in-person support, attend group sessions, or connect with case managers and program staff. But we also recognize that not everyone can make it to us.
That’s why we extend our reach beyond our walls, embedding services where they’re needed most: schools, churches, transitional housing units, and community centers. Whether it’s youth mentorship in a classroom, life skills coaching in a reentry home, or mental health education during a community event, we’re bringing resources directly to the heart of the communities we serve.
This hybrid service model ensures continuity of care, increases access for hard-to-reach populations, and builds trust by showing up consistently where families already live, work, and heal.
We intentionally hire from within the communities we serve. Each program integrates stakeholder voice, lived experience, and leadership from the ground up. Our advisory circles include educators, peer mentors, licensed clinicians, and justice-impacted individuals.
Our pilot programs are built with scalability in mind. We document process, outcomes, and lessons learned to support replication in other underserved communities across Delaware and beyond. This not only ensures impact but also offers clear returns for philanthropic partners, government funders, and institutional investors seeking measurable transformation.
